Donald A. Wehrmeister

Donald A. Wehrmeister, age 84 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at Grayling Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in Grayling, Michigan on Tuesday, July 30, 2019.

Donald was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 23, 1934 to Arthur and Lila (Gutowsky) Wehrmeister. He graduated from Henry Ford Community College as a Tool and Die Maker. After receiving his certification, he worked for Ford Motor Company. Donald married Lois Srull on December 31, 1956 in Detroit. The couple moved to Mio in 1974, where Donald worked for Champion Home Builders, and he was also one of the founders of Metal Fab. Donald was a lifelong Lutheran, and a member of Living Water Lutheran Church in Mio. He had enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and the beauty of trees and nature.

Donald is survived by his wife of 62 years Lois S. Wehrmeister of Mio, MI; his brother Robert (Annette) Wehrmeister of Seatac, WA; his sister-in-law Alice (Michael) Michael; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur & Lila Wehrmeister, and his brother-in-law William (Geraldine) Srull.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Private graveside services will be held. A Coffee Fellowship for family and friends will be held at Living Water Lutheran Church in Mio, Michigan on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 2 PM.
