Donald Ray Troyer, 90, of Fairview, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026, in Alpena, Michigan, with his family by his side.

Donald was born on October 4, 1935, to Joseph and Violet (Kaufman) Troyer. A lifelong resident of Fairview, Donald committed his life to his family and his community. On April 18, 1953, he married the love of his life, Cleta May Troyer. The couple recently celebrated a remarkable milestone, marking their 73rd wedding anniversary this past spring.

Donald was a man of many talents and a dedicated worker. Throughout his life, he served his community as a mechanic, farmer, groundskeeper, and as a transfer site worker for Comins Township. Outside of his hard work, Donald was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in farming, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Cleta Troyer; his brother, Orlo Troyer; and his children, Doris Troyer, Duane (Cindy) Troyer, Gayln (Katie) Troyer, Martin (Angie) Troyer, and daughter-in-law Rin (Dennis) Bontrager. Donald's legacy lives on through his 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Violet Troyer; his brothers, Darwin, Cletus, and Nelson Troyer; his sons, Linford and Max Troyer; and his grandson, William Troyer.

Visitation on Sunday, July 19, 2026 from 4 PM - 8 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Michigan, and also on Monday, July 20, 2026 from 10 AM – 11 AM, at Fairview Mennonite Church in Fairview, Michigan. Funeral Services will be at 11 AM with Pastor Lowell Eastman officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
