Donald William Emig

Donald W. Emig, age 71 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 20, 2022.
Donald was born in Comins, Michigan on December 7, 1950 to Wilbert and Velma (Harder) Emig. He graduated from Fairview High School with the Class of 1969. Donald lived in the Michiana Area for many years, where he worked for Hoskins and Syndicate Systems in Middlebury, Indiana. Donald moved back to Fairview 10 years ago from Vandalia, Michigan. He was a member of the Comins Eagles and attended the Comins Community Church. He was also active with Love, INC. Donald loved working with black walnuts: husking them, eating them, and donating the husks.
Donald is survived by his wife Margaret; his children: Shelia (Jim) Weaver, Carrie Emig, Patrick (Ty) Emig, and their mother Carol “Emig” Best; stepchildren: April (Reece) Evans, Chris (Brian) La Rosa, and James (Pam) Gerber his sister Mona (Cary) Lee; his brothers: Stu Emig, Ted Emig, and Marshall Emig; his grandchildren: Dustin Miller, Debra Spry, Amanda Barham, James Weaver, Earl Wayne Weaver, Selena (Markus) McElvain, Erica Emig, Rebecca Emig, Britney (Chad) Wright, Kessler Evans, Dustin La Rosa, Nicholas La Rosa, Amber La Rosa, Patrick Gerber, and Erin Gerber; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Velma & Wilbert Emig, and his sister Gaye Marker.
Visitation on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 1 – 3 PM at the Comins Community Church, Comins, MI, with Funeral Services at 3 PM with Pastor Kevin Salsbury officiating with Military Honors to follow by Luzerne American Legion Post 162, Mio American Legion Post 348 and Mio V.F.W. Post 4126. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow the services. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date at the Clinton Township Cemetery, Comins, Michigan.
