Mr. Donald Edward Elder, age 89, of Mio died Tuesday, October 17th, 2006 while in the company of family members at his home.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at The New Testament Bethel Church, 1215 Lang Street, Bay City, Michigan on Sunday, October 22, 2006 2-4 PM with his brother Pastor Clarence Elder officiating. Interment of Ashes at Oakridge Cemetery Bay City, Michigan.
Don was born on June 14, 1917 in Millington, Michigan to the late William & Mable Elder. He served his country in the U.S. Army and had worked in the steel industry as a hooker. He has lived in Mio for 30 Years.
Surviving are his wife Dora Marie (Marshall) Elder; daughters: Edith R. Elder of Bay City and Julie Zelno of Gladwin; 1 son: Robert Lee Elder of Mio and brother: Pastor Clarence Elder of Bay City.
