Donald E. Banks

Donald Eugene Banks, age 82, of Fairview, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI.
Donald was born on May 28, 1929 to Joseph and Virginia (Witkowski) Banks in Detroit, MI.  He served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Donald married Betty J. McKinstry on June 27, 1953 in Wayne, MI. He was a retired union painter and a member of the Union Painter Local #675 in Dearborn, MI.  Donald and Betty moved to Fairview in 1992 from Garden City, MI.
Surviving are his wife Betty; his children: Janet MacDonald of Redford, MI; Keith (Margaret) Banks of Lake Elsinore, CA; and Dennis (Sanae) Banks of Torrance, CA; his sister Lorraine Kaminski of Fairview, MI; 2 granddaughters: Hayley and Lacey; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Joseph Banks, Jr.
Visitation Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 3-6 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio.  A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 1 PM at East Swanton Cemetery in Swanton, Ohio, with Pastor David McKinstry officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
