Dennis D. Darnell

Dr. Dennis Dale Darnell, DVM, age 65, of Mio, MI, formerly of Manchester, IA and Spencer, IA passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 25th, 2007 at Mercy Hospital, Grayling,MI.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
Dennis was born on May 20, 1942 in Cedar Rapids, IA to the late Homer & Helen (Kray) Darnell. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1968. Dr. Darnell operated a private Veterinary Practice in Spencer, IA and later worked for USDA Veterinary Services in Manchester, IA and in Northern Michigan. He enjoyed woodworking and hunting.
Surviving are his wife: Diana J. (Layman) Darnell; daughter: Lynda (Mark) Viedenkamp of Spencer, IA; son: Todd (Genevive) Darnell of Marion, IA; his former wife Georgia Ann Darnell of Spencer, IA; step daughters: Elizabeth Bishop (John) Mack of State College, PA and Melissa Bishop of Alexandria, VA; step son: Jeff Bishop of Houston, TX ; 6 grandchildren: Afton, Tavish and Keenan of Marion, IA & Hunter, Blake and Tanner of Spencer, IA.
