Debbie Smith, age 58 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at her home on mother's day, Sunday, May 9th, 2021.

Deb was born in Port Huron, Michigan on April 19th, 1963 to Charles Bouverette and Judith Bouverette (Moutoux).

She worked as a nurse aide at the AuSable Valley nursing home caring for elders for over 13 years. She was a musician and loved playing guitar. She was known for selling instruments at the flea market, giving music lessons, and performing. She later started her first business, Guitars and Stuff Trading Post and was known as a "wheeler and dealer."

Debbie will be remembered for adventurous nature, carefree character, and quirky personality. She was a wonderful mother who also put her children first and had a deep compassion for others.

Debbie is survived by her children: Kenneth Maxwell Bouverette and Charlie Ann Bouverette. She also leaves behind her sister Cathy Placencia, brother Paul Bouverette, and granddaughter, Addison Lenz. She is preceded in death by her parents, nephew Arnold Bouverette, Aunt Ruth Atkinson, and son Bucky Joseph Bouverette.

Visitation is on Thursday, May 13th, 2021 at the Lashley Funeral Home in Mio, Michigan from 9:00-10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services. We will be traveling to the grave where she is having a natural burial. We will have a graveside service and give folks the opportunity to share in an outdoor space. It will be a "free style' service and we encourage anyone to share a eulogy.

We are having a meal at Paddle Inn in Mio, Michigan tomorrow at 4 p.m. Please bring a dish to pass.
