David L. Goit

Mr. David Lawrence Goit, 69, of Luzerne, MI., formerly of Pontiac, MI., died Friday, April 23rd, 2010 in Traverse City, MI.
Viewing Monday, 5-9 PM at Lashley Funeral Home. Funeral Services at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 27th, with Reverend James Duprey officiating. Interment following at Luzerne Cemetery Luzerne, MI.
David was born in Pontiac, on April 17, 1941 to the late Kenneth Eugene and Desdemona Burdy Dean (Whitfield) Goit. He worked as a Paint Repair man at the GM Plant 3 Truck and Bus Division in Pontiac. David married Sandra VanKuren on July 9, 1960 in Pontiac where he was raised. After 31 years he retired from GM in 1994 and the two moved to Luzerne in 1996. He loved all the nature and waters of the Mio and Luzerne area. He also enjoyed farming, hunting and woodcutting.
David is survived by his wife Sandra; his daughter, Veva Simmons of Greenville, MI; and his son David Goit of Onaway, MI; his grandchildren: Amanda Maltbie, Jerimiah Messer, Desdemona Evans, Anissa and Alicia Goit; step grandchildren: Renee, Ryan, Michelle and many beloved great grandchildren.
David is preceded in death by his parents, sisters and brothers: Gerald, Sharon and Steve.
