David John Dilks, age 81 of Curran, Michigan, passed away at his home on Sunday evening, August 7, 2022 with the love of his life by his side.
Dave was born on July 13, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan. He ran a successful excavating business, Curran General Store & Bait, Buck Stop Bar, was a partner in the Fairview BP, and was a partner with his wife Jean in NCR. He was known for being a first-class salesman, he could sell a snowball to an Eskimo. He was a world traveler for hunting, fishing, and golfing. He still loved playing on his excavating equipment at Ridgevale Camp. Dave has many long-time friends, is a lover of Jesus, and is willing to spend time with Him forever.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents: Harold & Vera Dilks, and his son Keith Dilks. He is survived by his wife Jean Dilks, his previous wife Phyllis (Rob) Copeland, and shares children: Laura (Dean) Ritsema, Jeffrey (Cristy) Dilks, and Katie (Dan) Kloth. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Dominic Dilks, Draven Karbowski, Ryder Dilks, Hunter Dilks, Benjamin (Jayme) Meyer, Samuel Meyer, Jack Meyer, and Jake Butler.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the TriPoint Church of God, Mio, Michigan. Visiting will begin at 11 AM until the service at 12 Noon with Pastors Bill Jones, Mike Stadelmayer, and Jody Coon officiating. A luncheon will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Dave Dilks’ name be given to TriPoint Church of God, 831 W. Miller Rd., Mio, MI 48647.
