Daniel Manuel Schanck

Daniel Manuel Schanck, age 65, of Mio, MI, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, December 18, 2022 at his home.
Those who knew Dan knew how big his heart was. Dan was a man who had many stories to tell of the journey life has taken him on. Dan was in the Marines in his younger years and became husband to his surviving wife Loretta "Jo" for over forty years, his daughters: Brittany Schanck and Amber Schanck, his six grandchildren: Caden Schanck, Jared Larrison, Daheton and Emerson Ruggery, Beverly and McKenzie Sidebottom. Brothers David and Darrayl and his sister Kimberly and many nieces, great nieces and nephews as well. Family was important for Dan. Dan loved spending his time with his family. He enjoyed making others smile and always loved to lend a hand. Even if he didn’t know you he treated you kindly and always made you feel welcome. He was a remarkable man and will be missed so very much.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service and interment of ashes, with military honors will be held in the spring, on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM at The Luzerne Cemetery.
