Daniel Lee Peterson

Daniel L. Peterson, age 77, recently of Mio, Michigan, formerly of Canton, Michigan, passed away at MidMichigan Regional Medical Center in West Branch, Michigan on Thursday, February 11, 2021.

Daniel was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 13, 1943 to Edward and Geraldine (Meinecke) Peterson. He married Marilyn on July 1, 1967 in Tecumseh, Michigan. Daniel was a licensed CPA who owned and operated his own firm: Daniel L. Peterson CPA in Farmington Hills, Michigan for over 50 years. He served as President of the Kiwanis. He enjoyed tennis; and was a founding member of the Beverly Hills Racquet Club in Beverly Hills, Michigan. Daniel also enjoyed travel, and truly loved his family. He loved teaching his grandchildren card games. He will always be remembered as a "Gentle, loving, kind man!"

Daniel is survived by his children: Linda (Douglas) Busman, Michael (Karen) Pitylak, Maryanne (Tim) Adam, Tammy (Brian) Sukarukoff, Danielle (Richard) Borrelli, and Tonya (Steve) DeGryse; his daughter-in-law Rose Pitylak; his grandchildren: Joelle, Ben, Jenny, Ryan, Jeff, Nicole, Scott, Sheena, Matt, Dominic, Adrian, Andrew, Jacob, and Josh; and his great-grandchildren: Caroline, Evan, Caleb, Ruby, James, Ben, Sam, Jake, Grant, Avery, Kendall, Alisha, Sophia, Gavin, Lillian, Rylan, Bennett, and Rosie. He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, who preceded him in death on January 30, 2021, and his parents.

Visitation on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 12 Noon – 1 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, with Funeral Services at 1 PM with Mr. Frank Beek officiating. Interment at Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio, Michigan.
