It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Casey Ellis, who left this world far too soon on May 22, 2026, at the age of 28. Born on June 27, 1997, in Saginaw, Michigan, Daniel, lovingly known as “Bubba” by those closest to him was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend. He made a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have known him as he lived life on his own terms and at his own pace.
Daniel was the beloved son of Casey and Christen Ellis, who nurtured his vibrant spirit and supported him throughout his life. He shared a special bond with his sisters, Rachael Larry and twin Brooke Ellis, who were his lifelong confidantes and friends. Daniel also had a special bond with brother-in-law Luke as they would never see each other without sharing their special handshake. Daniel's nieces, Alexis, Emma, Kacey J, and nephew, Luke, will forever carry his memory in their hearts, remembering him as the fun-loving uncle who never failed to bring smiles to their faces.
A proud graduate of Mio AuSable High School in 2015, Daniel was known for his quick wit, sense of humor and loyalty to those he loved. He possessed a passion for life that was evident in everything he did. Daniel enjoyed sports, fishing and was an avid card player, with a particular love for Texas Hold’ Em. He was never one to turn down a game, and his infectious enthusiasm often drew friends and family to the card table, where laughter echoed and memories were made. In his passing, Daniel's compassionate spirit will continue to live on through his selfless decision to donate to the Michigan Gift of Life, ensuring that others might have a chance at life even as his earthly journey came to an end.
As we remember Daniel, we celebrate a life lived fully and joyfully. His warmth, humor, and gentle soul will be deeply missed but never forgotten as he leaves behind a family and friends that loved him dearly.
A private memorial service will be held later to honor Daniel's life, where family and close friends will gather to share stories and say their final goodbyes. While our hearts are heavy, we find solace in the memories we hold and the love that continues to surround us. Daniel's light will shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, dear Daniel. You are loved beyond measure and will be forever missed.
