Dana "Dan" Chriss Esch, 72, of Mio, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. His beloved wife Suzann "Sue" Elizabeth (Wiedbrauk) Esch, 60, also of Mio, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020. Dan was born on October 11, 1947 in Alpena, Michigan, to the late Chriss and Kathryn (Reber) Esch. Dan is survived by Susan (Fritz) Schultz, Rhonda (Albert) Mundt, Alan (Linda) Esch, and Judy Esch. Sue was born on December 12, 1959 in Tawas City, Michigan, to the late Harry and Lila (McLaren) Wiedbrauk. Sue was also preceded in death by her brothers John and Joey, and her sister Mary. She is survived by her brothers Dave (Sue) Wiedbrauk and Fred (Tina) Wiedbrauk.
Dan and Sue were married in Mio on September 6, 1980. They have two daughters, Amanda (Jim) Salamon and Sarah (Josh) Toensfeldt. They were adored by their four grandchildren, Carter, Jack, Milo, and Lila.
Over the years, Dan and Sue enjoyed riding their motorcycles, gardening, traveling, doing puzzles, and spending time with their grandchildren. Dan enjoyed his morning coffee chats with his buddies. Sue loved to scrapbook and sew. They both were hard-working individuals. Dan was a retired truck driver, and Sue spent many years serving others at the local nursing home. They both will be dearly missed by those who knew them.
Visitation: Monday, January 27, 2020 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio. Visitation Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 10:00 AM until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at The Fairview Mennonite Church with Pastor Cody Gascho officiating, with a luncheon following at the church. Private interment at the Fairview Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Esch family or Lashley Funeral Home to help defray funeral costs.
