Dale Leslie Duverney

Dale Leslie DuVerney passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on August 11th , 2023.

Dale was born September 8th , 1937, the youngest of 7 children to Charles & Lizzie (Phelps) DuVerney in Flint, Mi . Dale served in the Navy from 1956-1959. During this time, he met a lifelong friend Nemo Adkins, who was like a brother to him for all these years. Once out of the Navy, he came back home to Flint where he met & married the love of his life, Jean (Jackson) on February 10th, 1962. They then went on to have 3 children Carin, Dale, and Barbi before moving to Mio, Mi in 1978. Dale worked in the tree service for many years, eventually becoming supervisor for Nelson's Tree Service, a job he truly loved & enjoyed.

Dale spent many summers as a kid with his Aunt in Elk Rapids, enjoying his childhood there jumping off the ole Johnny Rock with cousins. Those days became something he passed along to his children, visiting there almost every summer to share the experience of his boyhood. This was one of the many things he enjoyed. He also enjoyed fishing, reading westerns, going to church, time spent with family, and playing cards with "the boys".

His faith in God was very important to him. He was a proud member of the Atlanta Church of Christ, serving as a song leader & leading prayer. Dale was a shining light to all who knew him, and will be missed by many.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his loving daughter Carin DuVerney.

He is survived by his beautiful wife Jean, his children Dale (Jerrie) DuVerney,
Barbara (Travis) Milne, and his grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held at the New Hope Church in Mio, Mi on Saturday August 19th, 2023 from 2pm-5pm. We will have a small service & then a luncheon to follow for all those who would like to attend.
