Clyde O Damitz

Mr. Clyde O. Damitz, age 92, of Fairview, MI, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Grayling.Clyde was born on August 15, 1922 in Antigo, Wisconsin to Emil and Catherine (Wagner) Damitz. He married Marjorie Mitchell on September 17, 1942 in Detroit. The family lived in Southfield, MI until retiring to Fairview in 1980. Clyde worked most of his life as an engineer for Ford Motor Company. He enjoyed spending weekends with his wife on Lake Huron in Oscoda.Clyde is survived by his children: Greg Damitz of Fairview; Wayne (Nancy) Damitz of White Lake, MI; and Clayton Damitz of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; his 7 grandchildren: Beth Ann , Debi (Jeff), Eddie , Wendy (Rick), Christopher (Casey), Robert, and Melissa, and his 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marjorie in 2011; his daughter Sharon Ekey, his brother-in-law William Mitchell and his Granddaughter-in-law Theresa.Visitation Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 10:30 AM until the time of funeral services at 1:00 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI with Pastor Bob Hollis officiating. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow the service. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.).
