Mr. Clark W. Hinkley, age 78, of Mio, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw.
Visitation from 5- 9 P.M. Friday, November 14, 2008 at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio; and again on Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 12 Noon until the time of Funeral service at 1 P.M. at the Mio Baptist Church with Pastor Glynn McMorris officiating. In accordance with Clark's wishes, cremation will follow the funeral service.
Mr. Hinkley was born on February 7,1930 in Turner, Ml to Clark S. and Frances (Whitney) Hinkley. Clark was raised in Turner and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He married Lois June on June 12, 1954 in Whittemore, Ml. Clark had worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator and truck driver, retiring in 1995. Upon retirement, he moved permanently to his home in Mio. Clark was a member of the Mio Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and as a trustee; an active member of the American Red Cross; and a member of the AuSable Tractor Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and working on heavy equipment and tractors. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his friendliness, and his genuine willingness to help anyone.
Mr. Hinkley is survived by his wife June of Mio; his children: Russel C. (Connie) Hinkley of Turner, Ml; Glenda E. (Steve) Grabowski of Sanford, Ml; Dale K. Hinkley of Lansing, Ml and Jeffrey A. Hinkley of Mio, Ml; his 3 sisters: Elva (Phil) Partlow of Whittemore, Ml; Mary Jane (Mike) Reinstadler of Midland, Ml; and Marilyn (Eugene) Martin of AuGres, Ml; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
