Charlotte Fontaine Avery

Charlotte F. Avery, age 83 of Mio, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at The Home at Wellspring Lutheran Community in Fairview.
Charlotte was born on October 22, 1931 to Dudley and Lura (McCormack) Palmer in Mio, Michigan. She married Clancy Avery in 1953 in West Branch, Michigan. The couple lived in Troy, Michigan, where Charlotte worked as an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance in Pontiac. The couple retired to Mio in 1990, where Charlotte owned and operated McCormack’s General Store for many years until she retired.
Charlotte is survived by her husband Clancy of Mio, Michigan; her children: Daniel Avery of Madison Heights, Michigan and Gary (Lisa) Avery of Troy, Michigan; her sisters:  Betty (Ed) Knauf and Susie Schramm; 3 grandchildren:  Jeremy Avery, Jonathan Avery, and Jessica (Jesse) Merritt; and 3 great-grandchildren:  Jonathan Jr., Reed, and Ila. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Bob Palmer.
Visitation Friday, April 24, 2015 from 1 - 9 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Michigan; and from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Services at 11 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2015 also at Lashley Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Bowman officiating.  Interment will follow at Luzerne Cemetery.
