Charles Kenneth Willobee, age 90, of Luzerne, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at his home.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the New Beginnings Four Square Church, Mio, MI, with Pastor Ron Carter officiating.
Charles was born on October 22, 1919 in Luzerne, MI to Grant and Ethel Mae (Persons) Willobee. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. He married Beverly Holmden on October 11, 1975 in Comins, MI. Charles was a member of the New Beginnings Four Square Church of Mio, and was also a former member of the Luzerne American Legion Post #162. He enjoyed hunting, reading, watching the Detroit Tigers, and playing cards. He will be remembered as a hard worker all of his life.
Surviving are his wife Beverly A. Willobee; his children: Dave (Sue) Turner of Midland, MI; Larry(Sue) Turner of Grand Prairie, TX; Val (Pat) Stone of Mio; and Leslie (Brian) Farley of Mansfield, OH; his sister Thelma Bugbee of Mount Pleasant, MI; his brothers: Clare (Betty) Willobee and Ted (Irene) Willobee, both of Luzerne, MI; grandchildren: Boomer (Brandy Oaks) Willobee, Donnie Stone and Shannon Stone, and several others; and his great-grandchildren: Boomer Willobee, Jr., Cadence Willobee, and many others. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Linda Willobee, and his second wife Lula Vic Willobee.
