Charles R. Brown, Sr.

Charles R. Brown, Sr., age 66 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, MI on Sunday, November 13, 2016.
Charles was born in Pontiac, Michigan on November 17, 1949 to Cleo and Annie (Hapgood) Brown. He married Deborah on July 5, 1994 in Tennessee. Charlie had worked for GM Pontiac Truck Assembly Plant, retiring after 30 years of service. He and Deborah settled in Fairview, Michigan. Charlie attended Freedom Worship Center in Mio and had played on pool leagues. He was an avid musician, playing guitar and singing. He was also a hunter and fisherman.
Charles is survived by his children: Charles R. Brown, Jr. of Mio, MI; Elizabeth (Phillip) Renato of Rockford, MI; and Cheyennea Brown of St. Clair Shores, MI; 2 stepsons: Edward (Gloria) Johnson of Waterford, MI and Andrew Johnson of White Lake, MI; his sister Helen (Jim) Houser of Onaway, MI; his brother Joseph (Devon) Brown of Clarkston, MI; and 4 step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Deborah, and his sister Ann Brown.
Visitation on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 3 – 5 PM and from 7 – 9 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Michigan; and again on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 10 AM until Funeral Services at 11 AM with Pastors Sharon & David Gardulski officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
