Cecelia L. Genaw

Cecelia L. Genaw, age 71 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at The Home at Wellspring Lutheran Services, Fairview on Saturday, April 5, 2014.
Cecelia was born in Marysville, Michigan on February 5, 1943 to Omar and Katherine (Shurkey) Dingman.    She married Howard Genaw on April 8, 1961 in Marysville, MI. They moved to Mio in 1977.  Cecelia was past owner and operator with Howard of Knotty Pine Restaurant in Red Oak; and had worked as a cook for the Coffee Shop in Fairview.  She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Mio.  She enjoyed collecting dolls, birds, and snowman figurines. She also enjoyed flower gardening and cooking. Cecilia will be remembered as a wonderful cook.
Surviving are her husband Howard of Mio, MI; 4 children: Tonya Layman, Margie (Conrad) Wojciechowski, Howard Genaw, Jr., and Tracie (Brian) Doran; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her 4 sisters:  Ruth, Genevieve, Roberta, and Mary Sue; and 2 brothers:  Omar and Eugene. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers:  Kenneth, Pat and Freddy.
Visitation 3-9 PM, Monday, April 7, 2014 at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 also at the funeral home, with Pastor John Manning officiating.  Interment at Kittle Cemetery, Mio, Michigan.
