Catherine J. Rapaski

Catherine J. Rapaski, age 80 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at The Villa at Rose City on Monday, March 27, 2017.
Catherine was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 11, 1936 to George and Valena (Walters) Balmeo. Her family moved to Detroit, Michigan when she was a child. She worked as a caregiver for special needs children in the Dickerson Schools in Hamtramck. She and her husband Clancey settled in Mio in 1996. Catherine was a member of the Mio Moose Club. She enjoyed gambling, gardening, and quiet early mornings on the deck.
Catherine is survived by her son Kevin Raden of Mio, MI; her sister Gloria Castro of Clinton Twp., MI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Clancey Rapaski; her sister Shirley Langley, and her brothers Leo & Leon Jurabal.
Visitation on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 11 AM to 4 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, with Funeral Services at 4 PM with Pastor Rick McClendon officiating. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow the services. Interment of ashes will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Detroit, Michigan at a later date.
