Catherine A. Knepp, age 85 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away at The Brook of Grayling-Assisted Living Facility on Sunday, April 3, 2016.
Catherine was born in Essexville, Michigan on October 13, 1930 to Joseph and Francis (Swicicka) Monville. She graduated from Fairview High School, then attended and graduated from the Bay Academy Beauty College with a degree in Cosmetology. She received her Cosmetology teaching certificate from Kirtland Community College and taught there for 22 years. She also ran Blamer’s store and International Harvester business for 12 years. She felt that her important accomplishments in life were her 3 beautiful kids and 51 years of marriage, along with her careers. Catherine was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Mio, Michigan. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, sewing, travel, and square dancing. One of her fondest memories was a story about her and her husband: Dad was sitting on the point of the boat fishing. Mom wanted him to put the worm on her hook and he would not do it. So, she did, bent over to wash her hands off, and dumped Dad right into Perry Lake…Mom took him home, dried him off, laid out his wallet and papers to dry, then went right back to fishing!
