Carolyn Elaine Ludwig

Carolyn Elaine Ludwig, 73, of Mio, passed away Friday, July 11th, peacefully, at St. John Hospital in Detroit Michigan. Carolyn was born in Akron, Michigan on September 30, 1940, daughter of the late Eva Jean (Hart) and Earl Robert Steele.
She grew up in Akron but had lived in Sebewaing Michigan before moving to Mio in 1991. She was married to Kenneth Janke for 23 years and later to Ralph Ludwig for 23 years. Carolyn was a homemaker at heart. She loved to cook and prepare baked goods for donation events. She was a member of the Mio United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed spending time in the garden, flowers, watching humming birds and collecting Franklin Mint bells and plates. However, it was her love for little children, especially her own grandchildren that captured her heart the most.
Carolyn is survived by her children: Scott (Kathleen) Janke, Stuart Janke and Shawn (Dawn) Janke; sister Pauline Sharon (Wesley Louis) Ball; two grandchildren: Sara and Alyssa Janke and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her: parents; husbands; daughter Angela Jo; sister Edla Mae (Ertel) Schlemmer; brothers: Lawrence Harvey and Robert Earl Steele and sister Marlene Joan Norrington
Viewing to take place on Monday 3-9 pm at the Lashley Funeral Home and again Tuesday 11 am until the service at The Mio United Methodist Church, Mio, MI, at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 15th, with Pastor John Ball officiating.
