Carol "Gram" Ann Slater

Carol A. "Gram" Slater, age 80 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 27, 2018.

Carol was born in Pontiac, Michigan on January 19, 1938 to Zane and Virginia (Ewald) Pierce. She moved to Red Oak in 1977, and settled in Mio in 1985. Carol was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mio, and also "Thursday Night Dominos" with the girls. She enjoyed her family and playing games.

Carol is survived by her children: Mark (Mickey) Stilwell of Clinton Twp., MI; Beth Gonzales of Mio, MI; Brian Stilwell of Lincoln, NE; Lynn (Korky) Linden of Interlochen, MI; Dale (Beth) Stilwell of Madison, OH; and Steven (Amy) Stilwell of Mio, MI; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands: William Edward Stilwell and Willis Melvin Slater, her son Allen, her brother Roy, and her sister Marge.

Visitation on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 9 – 11 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mio, MI, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 AM with Father Santiago Hoyumpa as Celebrant. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow the Mass. Interment of Ashes will take place at Luzerne Cemetery, Luzerne, MI at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary Shrine Restoration Fund or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
