Carl Emil Routzahn

Mr. Carl Emil Routzahn, 86, of Mio passed away Thursday, May 10th, 2007 at West Branch Regional Medical Center.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
Carl was born on March 20, 1921 in Detroit to The Late Charles N. & Emma C. (Price) Routzahn. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force as a Sgt. in WW II from Oct 8, 1942 to Oct. 29, 1945. He married Geraldine C. (Drys) Routzahn on March 2, 1946. Carl worked for The Chrysler Corp. at the McGraw Plant from June 23, 1947 until January 31, 1978. The couple moved to Mio in 1978. He was an avid Redwings, Tigers and Lions Fan. Also enjoyed fishing and watching golf and old movies on TV He loved being a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a dog lover, personified. Few and far between are photos of him without a family member, child or dog.
Surviving are his daughter: Christine (Daniel) Smith of Mio; son: Carl Routzahn, Jr. of Lansing; brothers: Raymond and Edward
He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Stacie Prafke of Redford, MI, Karie Travis of Mio, Carl, Linda and Jillian., and 4 great grandchildren: Ricky Prafke, Samantha Travis, Nicole Scherzer and Camron Kitchen.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife of 59 years Geraldine, sisters Margaret Canfield of Maryland and Doris Guldner of of Houghton Lake.
