Kaleski
Carl Kaleski, age 79 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 19, 2015.
Carl was born at home in Dearborn, Michigan in “the hottest summer on record” on August 23, 1936 to Bruno and Justyna (Skendzior) Kaleski. He served in the US Army. On March 8, 1973, he married Pam in Detroit, MI. The family settled in Mio on November 5, 1985. Carl had worked as a cross-country truck driver for C.F.I. & Co. for 11 years; then he owned and operated County House Adult Foster Care Home in Mio. Carl enjoyed bicycle riding, roller blading, roller skating, archery, photography, and enjoyed watching sports, especially the Red Wings. He was also a history buff.
Carl is survived by his wife Pam of Mio, MI; his brother Richard Kaleski of Hamtramck, MI; his children: Amy Travis of Lewiston, MI; Sara Kaleski of Eugene, OR; and Steven Kaleski of Ypsilanti, MI; 10 grandchildren: Haley, Hannah (Paul), Liam, Lucy, Aden, Zara, Micah, Sylvia, and Aramis; and 2 great-grandchildren Kiera & Kaya. He is also survived by many friends and family, including his special friends Gary Gee and David Travis; his gentle care givers: Crystal and Mike; and his beloved dog and best friend “Chewy”.
Visitation on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 1 – 3:30 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, with Funeral Services at 3:30 PM with Mr. James Slasinski officiating. Interment will follow at Kittle Cemetery, Mio, MI, with military honors offered by Luzerne American Legion Post #162.
