Bill J. Bowling

Bill J. Bowling, 72, of North Canton, Ohio, passed away suddenly Wednesday morning, Aug. 14, 2013 in his cabin on the banks of the Au Sable River, MI.

Bill was born on June 19, 1941, in Cincinnati, OH. He graduated with an engineering degree from Cornell University in 1964, completing his MBA in 1965.  He was a dedicated employee at the Timken Company in Canton, Colmar, France and Latrobe, PA, for 38 years, retiring in 2003 as executive vice president, chief operating officer and president - steel.  Since his retirement, Bill has enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and gardening.

Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan, their three daughters: Elizabeth Winkler (John), Michelle Andre (Pete), Laura Cherkauer (Keith), and seven grandchildren: Lauren, Brady and Bryce Winkler, Mikaila and Aubry Andre and Samuel and Blake Cherkauer.

A memorial service will be held at the Reed Funeral Home, North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. on Saturday, August 31st at 3 pm.  In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation ( http://www.meaningfulfunerals.net/ ) or the charity of your choice.
