Mrs. Beulah E. Troyer, age 88, of Fairview, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 at The Home at AuSable Valley Community. Visitation Wednesday, April 8, 2009 from 4-8 P.M. at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio. Funeral service held Thursday, April 9, 2009, at 11 A.M. at the Fairview Mennonite Church with Pastor Eldon Krider officiating, and committal service by Pastor Kevin Salsbury. Interment at Fairview Cemetery.
Beulah was born on May 29, 1920 in Wauseon, Ohio to Andrew and Mary (Miller) Short. She married Levi Troyer there on May 10, 1942, then they moved to Fairview. Beulah worked at Mio AuSable Schools as a cook for 14 years. She was a faithful member of the Fairview Mennonite Church, and also helped pastor the Brethren in Christâ??s Church. Beulah enjoyed sewing, (she pieced several quilts for the MCC Relief Auction) singing, and cooking.
Beulah is survived by her husband Levi; her 5 children: J. Marvin (Mary Jean) Troyer of Fairview; Rhoda Williams (fiancé Roger Zinn) of Portland, Michigan; Levina (Wayne) Miller of Newport News, Virginia; Roger L. (Verda) Troyer of Mantua, Ohio; and Shelia (Paul) Heil of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; her sisters: Florence Aschliman of Archbold, Ohio and Martha (David) Miller of Souderton, Pennsylvania; her brother Lawrence (Doris) Short of Archbold, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 granddaughter Angela; and her brothers & sisters: Elden, Harold, Verden, Luella, Viola, Lillie, and Mary Jane.
