Betty L. (Anderson) Matthews

Betty Anderson Matthews, 88, passed away at The Villa in Rose City on October 26, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Betty was born April 30, 1929 in Morenci Michigan, the daughter of William and Vera Hall. She graduated from Rose City High School class of 1946, and attended Delta college for banking. She lived her entire life in or near Rose City. Betty loved and took great pride in Rose City worked and became manager of Farmers and Merchants State bank.

Betty was an avid golfer, she loved horse racing and more then an occasional trip to the casino, also loved going to the UP.

Betty is survived by her husband George Matthews Sr of Lupton, sisters Judy (Jesse) Embury of Englewood FL, Alta Jean (Elmer) McPherson of West Branch. Children, Jeff Anderson of Rose City, Jerry (Sallie) Anderson of Hoffman Estates IL, Lisa (George) Matthews Jr of Lupton. Grandchildren Jody Dantzer, Dawn Kovach, Mike Anderson, Kenny Matthews, Jeremy Anderson, Lindsay Anderson, Cameron Anderson, Great Grandchildren John & Troy Kovach, Alyssa, Ashland, & Ally Dantzer, Kiara, Alexis, & Kenny Matthews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Rex Anderson and Great Granddaughter Arika Dantzer.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Rose township hall in Lupton at 1:00 pm Friday Nov 3. Family will receive guests from 11:00 until time of service.
