Mr. Beryl E. Clover, age 87, of Mio, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2007 at his home. Visitation 1-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Ml. Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 1 P.M. at Lashley Funeral Home with Rev. Marcel Lamb officiating, with military honors by Luzerne American Legion Post # 162. Interment at Luzerne Cemetery.
Mr. Clover was born on Dec.1, 1919 in Pere Cheney (Crawford County), Ml. to Edwin and Jenny (Palmer) Clover. They moved to Mio when he was a boy. He graduated from Mio High School in 1938, and served his country in the U.S. Army as SPC5 during WWII. He met and married Mildred (Mitchell) Clover on July 4, 1943 in Huntsville, Alabama. Following the war, they returned to Mio and later settled in Owosso. The couple returned to Mio in 1981 following Beryl's retirement from Midwest Machine Company of Owosso. He was a member of Mio American Legion Post #348. He enjoyed fishing, mechanics, travel, cooking, baking and canning. He will be remembered for his lemon meringue pies and homemade bread.
Mr. Clover is survived by his children: Juanita (Gary) Huff of Owosso; George Clover of Cleveland, Tennessee; Melvin (Elaine) Clover of Bancroft, Ml; James Clover of Owosso and William Clover of Mio; his sister Geneva Kellogg of Owosso; his brother Charles Clover of Mio; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great- great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mildred; his grandson James Clover; his brother Orville Clover; his sisters Bertha Vink, Inez Misner, Theola Wallace and Georgia Royce.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association in Beryl's memory.
