Bertha M. Holmden
Mrs. Bertha M. Holmden, 81, of Mio, passed away Friday, March 27th, 2009 at The Home at AuSable Valley Community, Fairview.
Visitation Sunday 1-4 & 6-8 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Inc and Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of Funeral Services at 1:00 Pm at The Mio Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor David Jorgensen officiating. Interment at Luzerne Cemetery.
Bertha was born on September 20, 1927 in Glennie, MI to Ray Alberta & Josephine Louise Bertha (Duby) Daggett. She Married Clifford A. Holmden on January 11, 1947 in Muir, MI. The couple moved to Mio in the 1960's from Greenville, MI. Bertha was a member of The Mio Seventh-day Advestist Church. She took school classes and worked for the U.S. Forestry Department in Oscoda County and also as a nurses aide at The former White Oak Manor Nursing Home in Mio.
Surviving are her daughters: Beverly (Charles) Willobee of Luzerne; Virginia Nichols of Six Lakes, MI and Caroline Wilson of Howard City, MI; two sisters, Dolores Lemon of Mio, Ann (Laverne) Williams of Round Lake, IL and a sister in law Hazel Daggett of Oregon.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clifford A. Holmden; brothers: Nelson (Viola) Daggett, Charles Ray (Lorna) Daggett, Fred Daggett, William (Virginia) Daggett, Ray A. (Emma) Daggett, Jr., Sister Edessa Trusdell and infant twins: Helen and Leroy Daggett, Son-in-laws: Toby Nichols and Robert WIlson.
