Beatrice "Bea" Edith Stitt

July 1, 1923 — November 21, 2018

Beatrice E. Stitt, age 95 of Fairview, Michigan, formerly of Mio, Michigan, passed away at The Home at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Fairview, Michigan on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.

Beatrice was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 1, 1923 to Joseph and Edith (Wrase) Ertelt. She married Lawrence "Bus" Stitt on November 17, 1944 in Detroit and moved to Mio. Beatrice was a homemaker. She was a Charter Member of the Mio Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Mio VFW Ladies Auxiliary; and also the Mio United Methodist Church. She wintered in Florida and Arizona. Beatrice loved the Detroit Tigers, reading, crocheting, quilting, baking bread, playing games, and BINGO.

Beatrice is survived by her children: Roger (Cheryl) Stitt of Mio, MI, and Kathryn (Mark) Paullin of Denver, CO; her grandchildren: Ryan Stitt and Kimberly Derry; her great-grandson Cedar, and her 7 step-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, especially her dear niece Karen Dutton of White Lake, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lawrence "Bus" Stitt,  1 brother and 3 sisters.

Visitation on Sunday, November 25, 2018 from 1-4 and again from 6 – 8 PM with an Order of the Eastern Star Service at 7 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, and on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 10 AM until the Funeral Services at 11 AM at the Mio United Methodist Church with Pastor Brenda Klacking officiating. Interment at Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio, Michigan.
