Mrs. Barbara Ann Welch, age 69, of Mio, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2009 at her daughter's residence in Lapeer.
Visitation 2:00 P.M. â?? 4:00 P.M. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio. Funeral Service held at the funeral home at 4 P.M. with Youth Minister Kane Robert Gonzales officiating and Mrs. Sherry Anspach serving as eulogist. Interment to follow at Kittle Cemetery.
Barbara was born on March 2, 1940 in Mount Pleasant Michigan to Alvey & Flossie Klump. She worked as a Press Operator for General Motors, Pontiac Motors Division for 11 ½ years. She moved to the Mio Area in 1979 from Waterford. While she lived in the area, she had attended the Mio Baptist Church. Barbara was a member of the Mio Dummettes, the American Legion Post #162 Auxiliary, the Lady Lions of Fairview/Comins, and the Mio Moose Club.
Barbara is survived by her children: Debra A. (Bill) Gonzales of Lapeer, MI; David A. (Tammy) Thomas of Waterford, MI and Stephen E. (Bev) Welch of Luzerne, MI; her step-children: Christy (Richard) Armstrong of Ocala, FL; Steve (Vickie) Welch of Port St. Lucy, FL; Pattie Wheeler of Hawaii; Leslie (Jack) Benac of Lainsburg, MI; Barbara (Don) Hayes of Royal Oak, MI; and Brian Welch. She is also survived by 2 sisters: Phyllis Furman of Prudenville, MI; and Louella Layman of Clarkston, MI; two brothers: John Klump and Alva Klump, both of Mio, MI; 6 Grandchildren; several step grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert in 1993, and her daughter Roberta Russell.
