Mrs. Barbara Ann Valvoda, 84, of Mio died Friday, February 16th, 2007 at The Home at AuSable Valley Community, Fairview, Michigan. Visiting is Monday 6-8 PM at Lashley Funeral Home. Service is Tuesday February 20, 2007 at 4 PM at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church in Mio, MI. with Pastor Elizabeth Chace officiating. Interment at Kittle Cemetery Mio, Michigan.
Barb was born in Chardon, Ohio to the late George and Helen (Lamson) Sanford. She moved to Mio in 1979 from East Clairdon, Ohio and was a member of St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church. She volunteered for Hospice of Helping Hands and many other organizations, served as an Amish Taxi Driver for many years, and had worked as an Aid in an Ohio Nursing Home. Barb was a devoted Wife, Mother and Homemaker.
She is survived by her Children: Markieta Bohnen of Moapa, NV., Kipha Valvoda of Akron, Ohio, Thecla LaLonde of Wrangell, Alaska and Paula Valvoda of Moapa, NV. and seven Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Emil Valvoda (Dec. 27, 1983), Son David Valvoda, and Brother Jerome Sanford.
