Mrs. Barbara Lee Collinsworth, 79, of Mio, Michigan passed away Tuesday, July 16th, 2013 peacefully at The McLaren Bay Region Hospital, Bay City, MI.
Barbara was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 16, 1934, the daughter of the late Milton  Bryan and Easter Azilee (Yarbrough) Howle.  She was the wife of Edward L Collinsworth.  Barb had an associate degree from Central Michigan University and a Masters Degree from University of Michigan.  She worked for 12 years with the Walled Lake School District and then 23 years as an associate Dean for the Macomb Community College. Barb has been a long time member of The Mio United Methodist Church and a member of the 83 Grayling Order of The Eastern Star. She loved to read, play golf and especially enjoyed her Trillium flowers.
Barb is survived by her husband Edward; daughter Pam Collinsworth; son Larry Collinsworth; Step-daughter Patricia Baker; her beloved grandson Alex Thornton and nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Ralph Howle and sister Rose Marie O'Keefe.
Friends are invited to call Thursday, July 18 from 3 - 8 PM. At The Lashley Funeral Home in Mio and again from 10 - 11 AM Friday at The Mio United Methodist Church prior to 11 AM service.  Viewing will also be available Saturday July 20, from 10 AM - 1PM at The Hopcroft Funeral Home at 31145 John R. Road, Madison Heights, MI. Interment will take place at The Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.  Donations may be made in Barbs honor to the Mio United Methodist Church 1101 W. 8th Street, Mio, MI.
