Aubrey F. Socia, Sr, 83, of Fairview, Michigan, passed away Monday, July 14th, peacefully, at The Home at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Fairview, Michigan. Aubrey was born in Mount Clemens, Michigan on February 18, 1931, a son of the late Lillian Mae (Nicolai) and Albert E Socia.
Aubrey grew up in the Mount Clemens area and served his country in the U.S. Army as a Cpl in the Korean War. He married Mildred “Millie” Carrier in September 25, 1954, which this year would have been their 60th wedding anniversary. He was a property manager by trade who was known for one of his favorite things, telling stories. He enjoyed music and had attended the Open Mic for over 19 years. He also was associated with the Steiner Museum, the Michigan Magazine and had attended the Comins Mennonite Church for years.
Aubrey is survived by his wife Millie; children: Aubrey "Nick" (Sondra) Socia Jr., Steven (Linda) Morang and Cathrine (Elgin) Brown; sisters: Ethel and Helen; grandchildren: Kimberly, Christina, Andrew, Stephanie, Maelyn, Cristen and Tracy; 15 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and special friends. Aubrey is preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Florence, Dorothy and Meggie; and brothers: Elmer and Alfred.
Viewing is Saturday 10 am to 1 pm, followed by the service at 1 pm all at The Mio Baptist Church, Mio, Michigan on Saturday, July 19th with Pastor Kevin Salsbury officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
