Arthur R. Laban

Arthur R. Laban, age 72, of Comins, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2010 at Bay Regional Medical Center in Bay City, Michigan.
Arthur was born on November 2, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to Anton and Katie (Yost) Laban.  He moved to Comins as a child.  Arthur had worked for Essex Wire in Atlanta, and also for Green's Well Drilling in Comins.  He was a member of the Comins Eagles Club and the Fairview/Comins Lions Club.  Arthur enjoyed collecting die-cast cars and Christmas decorations and was honored by Oscoda County for his Christmas display. He also enjoyed attending auctions and coin collecting.
Arthur is survived by his companion Freida Cady of Comins; his children:  Howard (Cheryl) Laban of Comins; Gordon Laban (Marie) of Plant City, FL; Audrey (Roger) Bugg of Curran; Joe (Chris) Laban of Dunnellon, FL; and Carole Butler of Fairview; his sister Barbara Balhorn of Comins; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He will also be missed by many, many friends.  Arthur was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Katie Allagreen.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 9-11AM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Michigan with Funeral Service at 11 AM with Fr. Raymond Cotter of St. Mary Catholic Church, Mio, officiating.  Interment at Clinton Township Cemetery in Comins, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the wishes of the family.
