Mr. Arthur Donald DeKoff, 61, of Luzerne, MI, died Sunday, July 17th, 2011 at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City, MI.
Arthur was born in Detroit, MI on December 5, 1949, the son of the late Arthur Elliott and Lucille Adelaide (Wuttke) Dekoff. He grew up on the South West side of Detroit and then moved to Allen Park with his parents. Arthur worked at the GM Fisher Body Plant in Detroit as a tool and die maker prior to serving in the US Army during the Vietnam War. In the mid 90's he moved to Mio, MI where he married Terry Belle (Whaley) on October 23, 2001. He enjoyed working outside and building things out of wood. He was a member of the Mio VFW Post # 4126 and the Mio Moose Lodge # 1035.
Arthur is survived by his wife Terry; 2 daughters: Jessica Dekoff of Mio, MI and Janay Dekoff of Lansing, MI; his sister Gail (Dave) Smith of Adrian, MI and 1 grandchild William Arthur Miller. He is preceded in death by his parents.
He dearly loved his family and will be greatly missed. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. The interment of ashes will take place Saturday August 6th at 2:00 PM in the Mio Mentor Township Cemetery with military honors offered by the Luzerne American Legion Post # 162.
