Arthur Francis Brandt

Mr. Arthur Francis Brandt, 71, of Mio passed away Thursday, July 19th, 2012 at St. Mary's Medical Center, of Saginaw, Michigan.  In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Living Water Lutheran Church in Mio, with Pastor Carlo Sgambelluri officiating. Interment of ashes will be in Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio.

Arthur was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on May 24, 1941, the son of the late Arthur William and Louise (Schulmeyer) Brandt. After graduating from High School Arthur went on to obtain an Associate Degree from Kirtland College. He married Doreen (Engerer) on March 13, 1964 in Lincoln, MI.  He was the owner Operator of AuSable Upholstery and a long time member of the Living Water Lutheran Church of Mio.  Arthur was an avid sports fan but as a native of the Mio area he especially enjoyed the woods and the AuSable River. He had a heart and devotion to his work and his family taking care to provide as was needed.  He will be remembered as a loving and caring Father, Husband, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Brother.

Arthur is survived by his children: Michelle (Rod) Verlac of Prudenville, MI; and Chris (Christine) Brandt of Grayling, MI; his grandchildren:  Mandy Harris of Roscommon, MI; Shane Kamen of Prudenville, MI; Jessica Brandt of Tampa, FL; and Tyler Brandt of Grayling, MI; and his great-grandchildren:  Nickoli Dreffs, and Gabreilla Brandt.  He is preceded in death by his wife Doreen.
