Archie Caplin

Mr. Archie Maitland Caplin, age 83, of Rose City, formerly of Holly, MI passed away Sunday, November 29th, 2009 at Bortz Health Care of Rose City.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service and interment of ashes will be held at a later date at Luzerne Cemetery.
Mr. Caplin was born on January 28, 1926 in Plainfield, MI to Arthur & Ruie (Mapes) Caplin. Archie served his country in in the U.S. Military Police during W.W.II. He lived in Holly, MI for many years, previously in Southfield, MI. He retired as a TV and electronics technician. His hobbies included being an amateur radio operator, enjoying radio operated planes and helicopters along with his woodworking skills.
Mr. Caplin is survived by his two nieces: Arlene (Jim) Olsen of Luzerne, MI and Audrey (Jim) Drys of Mancelona, MI. He was preceded in death by his his parents, sister Gladys Zimowske, and his beloved wife of 50 years, Barbara, who was born in Wessobrunn, Bavaria, Germany.
