Alvin Leroy Troyer, 81, of Kaleva, went to be with his Lord Thursday, September 6, 2007, at his residence. He was born January 16, 1926, in Mio, the son of Seth and Edna (Bontrager) Troyer.
  
  When he was younger Alvin worked on the family farm and hauled milk and cream in Northern Michigan from which he developed many friendships. Later, his family went in the meat processing business and opened a meat market and grocery store ""Troyerâ??s Market"", where Alvin worked as a meat-cutter until his retirement in 1985.
  
  While living in Mio, Alvin was active in the Mio Conservative Mennonite Fellowship Church, where he became an Ordained Deacon in 1968.
  
  Alvin moved to Manistee County in 1989, where he was an active member of the Pleasant View Mennonite Church. In addition to being active in the church, Alvin enjoyed visiting his family and friends.
  
  Alvin is survived by: 3 sons, Nelson (Nancy) Troyer of South Boardman, Dwight (Sheila Dunn) Troyer of Springboro, Ohio, and Mark (Julie) Troyer of Mio; his daughter-in-law, Marie (Gary) Miller of Pantego, North Carolina; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mildred Zook of Rialto, California, and Wilma (Lee) Shetler of Pigeon; his brother-in-law, Erlis Albrecht of Fairview; and numerous nieces and nephews.
  
  On July 12, 1952, in Kokomo, Indiana, Alvin married Mary Luellen Graber, who preceded him in death in 1998. Alvin was also preceded in death by: his parents; his son, John Troyer; 1 great-grandson, Joshua Lee Hershey; and 1 sister, Sue Albrecht.
  
  Visitation will be held Saturday, September 8, from 5-8 PM at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church in Brethren; and on Sunday, from 4-8 PM, at the Lashley Funeral Home in Mio. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 10, 2007, at the Fairview Mennonite Church in Fairview. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
  
  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
  
  
  The Terwilliger Funeral Home, in Kaleva and Lashley Funeral Home, in Mio are in charge of arrangements.
