Mrs. Alice C. Sager, 77, of Barton City went to be with the Lord suddenly and peacefully Friday, January 23rd, 2009 at Covenant Health Care in Saginaw, MI. Viewing Monday January 26, 2009, 1-4 and 6-8 PM at The Lashley Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Services at Sunnyside United Methodist Church, Curran, MI., at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 27th, with Reverend Marcel A. Lamb officiating. Interment at Mitchell Township Cemetery, Curran, MI.
Alice was born on April 30, 1931 in Detroit, MI. to the late Commodore Nelson and Margaret (Graham) Collar. She graduated from Denby High School in Detroit, MI. class of 1949. She worked for City Financial in Detroit as a young woman. Alice had been active in The Girl Scout Program and Treasurer for The Lake of the Greens Association for 27 years also working as their Legal Advocate.
Alice was a proficient musician learning piano as a young child and later playing organ into her adult life. She enjoyed listening to music, fishing and camping. She also had a love for dogs and animals. She was a member of Sunnyside United Methodist Church Curran, Michigan .
Alice is survived by her two sons Michael (Gail) Doyle of Berkley, MI., James Doyle of Barton City, MI., daughter Kathleen Ritter in Australia, a brother, Robert Collar of Berkley, MI. Five grandchildren: Margaret (Daryl) Rogers, Bethany Ritter, Amanda (Tim) Dolan, Karen Doyle, Michael Doyle II and three great grandchildren: Derek Rogers, Brandon Rogers and Madeline Dolan.
She is proceeded in death by her parents and her husband John Sager.
