Mr. Lowell Alger Mishler, age 89, of Mio, MI, passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 at Grayling Mercy Hospital.
Alger was born and raised on the family farm on Mishler Road in Mio, Michigan. He married Louise Marie (Boerner) on December 11, 1943. He was a dairy farmer and worked for many years as a Rural Mail Carrier for the US Post Office. Alger was a member of Mio United Methodist Church. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: nature, family, and friends. He especially enjoyed gardening and outdoor activities; and watching and listening to the Detroit Tiger baseball games.
Surviving are his children: Pam (Mike) Larrison and Joe Mishler; both of Rose City, MI; his grandchildren: Nicole (Chris) Reister, Ryan (Amanda) Larrison, Courtney Lowe and Jessica Felts; his great grandchildren: Leyton, Cameron, and Keira; and his sister Lois Brown of Mio, MI and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Harry and Coral (Smith) Mishler; his wife Louise; sister Edna (Don) Crane; and his brother-in-law Beverly Brown.
Visitation Wednesday May 11, 2011 from 1-4 and 6-9 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI and again on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 10 AM until funeral service at 11 AM at the Mio United Methodist Church with Pastor Marcel Lamb officiating. Interment at Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio.
