Alger J. Frazho

Alger J. Frazho, age 83 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at Munson-Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord, Michigan, following a short battle with cancer, on Saturday, December 28, 2019.

Alger was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 23, 1936 to Joseph and Esther (Alexander) Frazho. He married Yvonne in 1954, and the couple moved to Mio in 1972 from St. Clair Shores. He built his own log retirement home in Mio, where he was a volunteer firefighter for Tri-Town Fire Department for 20 years. Alger was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and also a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed following Mio AuSable High School sports.

Alger is survived by his children: Gary (April) Frazho of Mio, MI and Keith (Suzie) Frazho of Brownstown, MI; his sister Doris Siluk of Warren, MI; his grandchildren: Kelsey (Garrett), Kenzie (Chris), Kyle, Meghan, and Brandon; his great-grandson Rowan; and his companion JoAnne Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Yvonne, and his son Dr. Clifford Frazho.

Visitation on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 4 – 8 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, and again on Friday, January 3, 2020 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mio, MI from 10 AM until The Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Fr Santiago Hoyumpa as Celebrant. Interment at Kittle Cemetery, Mio, Michigan.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary Shrine Restoration Fund.
