Albert E. Mundt, age 86 of Luzerne, Michigan, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
Albert was born in Boyne City, Michigan on October 1, 1937. He sailed on the State boats between St. Ignace and Mackinaw City until the Mackinac Bridge was built. He was in the Merchant Marines and sailed on the Great Lakes for approximately 2 years before going to work for the State Highway Department. Al always had a compassionate heart for troubled teens, so he became a County Juvenile Officer in 1973. Al married Rhonda in 1977 and built their own home over the next several years. He struggled with Parkinson’s Disease since 1992.
Albert is survived by his wife Rhonda; his daughters: twins Candy (Doug) Wallace and Sandy (Blake) Brown, and Michelle (Jerry) Solo; his grandchildren: Karissa Parran, Travis Forshee, Curtis Forshee, Tyler Auvil, James Reeves, Sierra Solo, and Ethan Solo; and his cousins: Thora Shepard, Bob Ouellette, Nancy Brown, and Jerry Mundt. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Beatrice.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Private interment of ashes will take place at a later date.
