Mr. Albert J. Coates, Jr., 78, of Mio, passed away Monday, February 5th, 2007 at West Branch Regional Medical Center.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
Al was born on Oct 12, 1928 in Grand Rapids to Albert & Katherine Coates, Sr.
He served his country in the U.S. Military. He was a retired Biologist for the DNR and enjoyed fishing, rabbit hunting and golfing.
Surviving are his special friend and companion Jackie Smith of Mio; sons: Denis A. (Susan) Coates of Battle Ground, WA, Mike J. (Cheryl) Coates of Port Charlotte, FL; sisters: Audrey Pomeranine of Virginia, Polly Ann Drenton of Arizona and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Susan Dillon.
