A. Lorraine Arnold passed away at home on October 25, 2024. Lorraine had just celebrated her 96th birthday.

Lorraine was born on October 23, 1928, in Watertown Township in Lansing, Michigan. She was the fourth daughter born to Andrew and Alice Stortz. In 1944, the family moved to Fairview, Michigan. She graduated from Fairview Area Schools in 1946 and was married to Louis Arnold on June 23, 1949. The couple lived in the Grand Rapids area until 1953, they then moved back to Fairview.

Lorraine began her career in banking at Roscommon State Bank in Mio in 1954. She was appointed Assistant Cashier in 1965. In 1972, the Fairview branch was built, and she was the manager until her retirement in 1985, after 32 years of service.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband Louis in 2014. Her three sisters Nelda Craig, Rosemary Phipps, and Lucille Lietzke and their spouses also preceded her in death. She is survived by several nephews.

Lorraine was a longtime member of the Comins Community Church. She enjoyed making quilts for the church’s mission projects. On October 23, 2024, the church family honored her with a nice luncheon, birthday cake, and flowers.

Services will be held at the Comins Community Church on Thursday, October 31, 2024. There will be visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Burial at the cemetery in Fairview with a luncheon at the church to follow.
