Obituaries

Mrs. Dorothy Smith, age 87, of Fairview, passed away at her home on Monday, June 18, 2007. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, 2007 from 6-9 P.M., with an O.E.S. Service at 7 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home in Mio, Michigan, and from 12 Noon until the funeral services on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 1 P.M. at Mio United Methodist Church with Reverend John Naile officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Smith was born on July 10, 1919 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Henry & Effie (Parker) Kuhn. She lived in East Detroit, moved to St. Charles, and later settled in Fairview. She was a member of the Mio Order of the Eastern Star Chapter # 528, and Mio United Methodist Church. She was an active volunteer for the Oscoda County Senior Center and the Michigan Magazine Memorial Walk Program. She will be dearly missed. Dorothy is survived by her children: Joann (Richard, Sr.) Barron of Clinton Township, MI and Lynn (Lois) Cole of East Pointe, MI; her stepchildren: Lawrence (Jean) Smith of St. Charles, MI and Roma (Robert) Bedore of Saginaw, MI; her sisters: Eileen and Lorraine and her brother Donald. She is also survived by her grandchildren Richard Jr., Richelle, Kimberly, Shawn, Lisa, Leslie, Lynn Jr., Colleen and Craig; her step-grandchildren: Larry, Renee, Brent, Karen and Andrew and many great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lewis Smith, her former husband James Moll, Jr., her granddaughter Carrie, and her brothers Arnold, Richard and Hank.
