Delbert Leroy “Bondie” Bontrager, age 91, of Fairview, MI, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, December 16, 2011 at his home.  Delbert was born on April 8, 1920 in Comins, MI to Otis and Nora (Miller) Bontrager.  He met his wife Grace Ione Shank at The Ontario Mennonite Bible School in Kitchener, Canada in 1940.  They celebrated 70 years of marriage on November 12, 2011.  To this union were born 7 children: Dale (Donnette) Bontrager of Goshen, IN; Nancy (Ron) Bradley of Prescott, MI; Martha (Mike) Brudney of La Grange, IN; Lisa (Phil) Larrison of Fairview, MI; Deb (Roger) Gaynor of Cheboygan, MI; Brian (Judy) Bontrager of Fairview, MI; and Kevin (Shelly) Bontrager of Paris, France.  Delbert is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 brothers: Willard (Millie) Bontrager of Mancelona, MI, and Warren (Annabelle) Bontrager of Mio, MI, and 2 sisters: Anna (Lloyd )Strong of Kalkaska, MI, and Miriam (Mahlon) Gascho of Fairview, MI.Delbert loved his heavenly Father and his family so dearly.  He was a member of the Fairview Mennonite Church, enjoyed making craft items in his workshop and giving his time and talents to anyone in the church and community.  Delbert loved to sing, especially with the gospel quartet.

Visitation Sunday, December 18, 2011, from 2-8 PM Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI.  Funeral services on Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Fairview Mennonite Church, Fairview, MI, at 11 AM with Pastor Brent Bontrager officiating.  Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, MI.
