Edward Grimes, age 84, of Mio, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010, at the Home at AuSable Valley Community in Fairview. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 from 11AM until 1 PM at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mio, MI with a Rosary offered by the Knights of Columbus beginning at 12:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM with Fr. Raymond Cotter presiding. Interment at Luzerne Cemetery. Edward was born on October 8, 1925 to Ben Luther and Lily (Merva) Grimes in Cartwright, Tennessee. He married Anna in Nebraska, where Ed worked for many years as a roofer. The couple moved from Omaha, Nebraska and settled in Mio in 1985. Ed was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a former member of the Our Lady of the Woods Knights of Columbus Council #7329. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years and watching baseball and golf on T.V. in his later years. Edward is survived by his wife Anna Grimes; his sister Eva Boston; his nephews Santo and Frank Montani of Mio; and also several nieces and nephews in both Tennessee and Michigan.
